I took this picture from the top the Gun Hill Signal Station, which in my opinion is one of the must visit tourist attractions here in Barbados. It is a place that just oozes history and gives an insight into the historic past of the island.
This particular picture was taken just as a tropical storm was finishing off watering the island; in fact I was stuck in the room at the top of Gun Hill Signal Station for over an hour waiting for the storm to end.
The views form the windows at the top of the signal station are worth the admission money alone and provide a wonderful view of the island. For more of an insight into Gun Hill read the following article I wrote Historic Gun Hill Signal Station In Barbados.

I don’t know about you but I do love the odd bottle of Moet et Chandon Champagne and for some reason it goes down real well here in Barbados, especially when the sun is shining and I’m enjoying the magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea. And of course the most important element of drinking Champagne is having fantastic company such as the wife.
Because I’m not rich I make sure when I leave Barbados I take in as many bottles of duty free Champagne as I can when I return, I’m not crazy the price they charge for the stuff here in Barbados would bankrupt me, and stupid me thought it was expensive in the UK, until I came to this island.

If you want to find a beauty spot with some amazing views and you are in a place that has a coastline, it is always a good bet to go and find the nearest lighthouses. Barbados, is of course an island and there are quite a few lighthouses scattered around the it.
So the other day I went in search of East Point Lighthouse, which was located at place in Barbados, called Ragged Point. The name of the location Ragged Point conjures up, cliffs and magnificent views in my mind, and it was exactly that!
One thing that I love about Barbados is the fact that very few tourists seem to want to get out and about and visit the various beauty spots on the island, which means that when you go and visit them, they are usually deserted and you have them all to yourself. When I visited East Point Lighthouse here in Barbados, there wasn’t another soul in site.

For me there is something almost magically about watching the sunset and Barbados is an island that sure doesn’t disappoint in that department. I must admit that you are spoilt in Barbados if you love watching the Sunset, because there are numerous beautiful places from, which to watch it happen.
This particular picture was taken at Keizer Hill, which is near Cotton Bay in Barbados and it is a particularly beautiful spot from, which to watch the sunset. I would defiantly recommend it for all you romantics out there and anybody else that appreciates the magic of watching the sunset.

I think this picture captures pretty much captures what Kitesurfing is all about. It doesn’t look too complicated but then again those that know what they are doing always make it look so easy.
By embracing the power of the wind and sea, you can make your board reach amazing speeds and fly up to 20 feet into the air. I was impressed by the speed that some of the Kitesurfers were reaching at Silversands here in Barbados, even though I never personally witnessed anybody moving more than a feet or two off the sea.
For all you thrill seekers and adrenalin junkies out there, if you haven’t tried out Kitesurfing you are missing out on what looks like an amazing ride!
