I think this picture captures pretty much captures what Kitesurfing is all about. It doesn’t look too complicated but then again those that know what they are doing always make it look so easy.
By embracing the power of the wind and sea, you can make your board reach amazing speeds and fly up to 20 feet into the air. I was impressed by the speed that some of the Kitesurfers were reaching at Silversands here in Barbados, even though I never personally witnessed anybody moving more than a feet or two off the sea.
For all you thrill seekers and adrenalin junkies out there, if you haven’t tried out Kitesurfing you are missing out on what looks like an amazing ride!

I use to love flying my kite when I was a wee kid back home in Scotland all those many years ago, and if I can remember correctly I use to get a buzz out of it. Now a days the latest craze for adrenalin seeking water sports junkies seems to be Kitesurfing, which involves a big kite and a board, come to think of it I use to love Skateboarding when I was younger.
I for one didn’t really think too much about Kitesurfing until the other day when I was down beside Silversands Beach in Barbados and I came across some of them. What can I say apart from I got a buzz out of watching the Kitesurfers, I know at that some point in the near future I’m going have to have a blast at it.
Kitesurfing sure seems to be popular sport here in Barbados at the moment and the other day I counted 18 people at Silversands riding the waves. If anybody out there in Barbados wants to give me a free lesson, I’m willing and available!
