I came  acorss these fishing boats resting on the shore down at Oistins early one evening as I was enjoying the warm nightime air in Barbados, as I enjoyed a couple of ice cold lagers.

I find it a great place to sit having an ice cold banks beer and a few legendary fish cakes, looking out at the wee fishing boats sitting in the bay and watching the Caribbean Sea gently hit the sands.

After a couple of beers and few of those amazing fish cakes the world sure does seem a wonderful place.

This picture was taken just along from the fish market in Oistins in Barbados and I can only assume it is where at some point in history they would have hung the huge brutes of fish that are caught in Barbados waters such as tuna and marlin.

I find it a great wee spot to chill out at and take things easy watching the Caribbean Sea as I contemplate life.

Nothing beats a wee bit of junk food from time to time and for me there is no better place to eat the most delicious loaded hot dog that I have ever tasted in the world, than at the beach in Barbados. Of course it helps when you wash it down with an ice cold cup of mauby and can of Heineken. 

Barbados, it may be known as an expensive and upmarket destination, which is true to a certain extent. But for only BDS$15 I had lunch for two with a view to kill for. Some times the simple things in life can be the most memorable and rewarding, for me it isn’t just all about fancy restaurants, bars and clubs.

A colourful looking bar that is located just across the road from the legendary Oistins Fish Fry in Christ Church in Barbados. I find it a good bar for grabbing an ice cold bottle of Banks Beer before I head across the road for some of the best grilled fish I am likely to taste anywhere in the world.
