This is a very simple technique for roasting breadfruit, which I learned from family members here in Barbados. Believe it or not there is a breadfruit packed inside the middle of that fiery inferno. Please do not try this at home unless you know what you are doing, I wouldn’t want to be responsible for anybody burning their house down.
It took about 20 minutes or so for the breadfruit to be cooked to perfection, and what can I say apart from that it tasted absolutely delicious. I haven’t had the chance to roast a breadfruit unsupervised yet, but I will give it a go in the near future and hopefully it will taste as good as the one in the picture.
I could just imagine trying this cooking method back home in Scotland, the fire brigade would be at my house before the breadfruit was got roasted properly putting out the fire. Life sure is more civilised here in Barbados!
